Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly does “editorial wedding photography” mean?

It means we approach your wedding day through a creative, magazine-inspired lens. Instead of stiff, traditional poses, we capture authentic moments using cinematic lighting, deliberate composition, and a fashion-forward edge. It’s about making your real, unscripted emotions look breathtakingly artistic.

How do you determine pricing?

We have often been told we are underpriced compared to other photographers charging higher rates for similar work. We are confident in our work and service, and yes we know we can charge more. However we aim to have a good mix of clients and weddings. From premium to luxury. CityLux also has a small team that is eager to work, so we offer a great value, which in turn brings us lots of inquiries and then we get to choose the best clients to work with.

Do you travel outside of Boston and New England?

Absolutely. While we frequently document weddings at iconic Boston landmarks and New England estates, we regularly travel worldwide for destination weddings, elopements, and editorial sessions. Custom travel collections are seamlessly handled by our studio. We also take weddings in Florida each Winter.

We are awkward in front of the camera. Will you guide us?

Our process is designed to completely eliminate that anxiety. We have been told numerous times how well we pose and work with clients. We use a hybrid style: we let candid moments unfold naturally during the high-emotion parts of the day, and we give gentle, editorial direction during your portraits so you feel confident, relaxed, and look entirely effortless.

How far in advance should we secure our date?

Because we limit the number of clients we accept each year to give every couple our full artistic energy, dates during peak New England wedding seasons (May–October) typically book out 12 to 18 months in advance.

Due to over 250 inquiries each year, we do not take every client or wedding.

When and how will we receive our wedding images?

You will receive a high-resolution, beautifully curated digital gallery within 6 to 12 weeks of your wedding day, along with a stunning “sneak peek” collection delivered within days of your celebration so you can share your memories immediately.

We also include a large premium printed album to all our valued clients. Printing your photos is so much better than just looking at them on a screen.

ready to work with us?

I truly don’t have enough AMAZING things to say about CityLux. I had a very specific vision for my wedding photos, an elevated, documentary style, and they absolutely nailed it.
